Terms of Service
Using Bookend
Product terms and privacy for Bookend (formerly Viewing Planner).
Last updated 21 September 2026
The agreement
These terms are the agreement between you and Bookend (formerly Viewing Planner). If you do not agree, do not use the service. Questions: andrewquinn1989@gmail.com.
What Bookend is
Bookend (formerly Viewing Planner) lets an estate agency give each listing — and, where used, a seller-intro diary — its own booking calendar. Buyers pick a slot on a public page. Confirmations, reminders, and calendar invites send themselves.
Accounts
Use an accurate work email. Agency admins are responsible for who they invite. An invited agent uses the agency’s account; the agency is the customer. Keep your sign-in link and Google account secure.
You are responsible for the listings, contacts, and messages you put into Bookend, and for having a lawful reason to hold that information (including POPIA).
Calendar connections
Connecting Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook is optional. If you connect one, you authorise us to:
- read free/busy and calendar lists as needed to offer bookable slots
- create, update, and cancel events for viewings booked through Bookend
- store encrypted OAuth tokens so this keeps working until you disconnect
We are not Google or Microsoft. Their terms also apply to the connected account. Disconnect at any time in Calendar settings; we will stop using those tokens.
Public pages
Booking, enquiry, and capture links you share are public. Anyone with the link can submit details or book a slot, subject to your availability rules. Do not put a private street address in a public listing name — the product is built to keep the exact address private until a viewing is confirmed.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no scraping other agencies’ data, no attempting to bypass access rules, no sending spam through our email, no illegal content. We may suspend an account that harms the service or other users.
Trial and billing
There is a 30-day free trial, then R250 per agent a month on a monthly plan, or R199 per agent a month on a 12-month plan. Payment details will be collected before the trial ends. If a trial ends without billing, new bookings may pause until the agency sorts billing.
Availability
We run Bookend on a best-effort basis. Email, calendar providers, and hosting can fail. We may change features as we build the product. We will not drop your data on a whim, but we do not promise a particular uptime.
Liability
Bookend is a scheduling tool. We are not a party to any sale, lease, or mandate. To the extent South African law allows, we are not liable for lost deals, missed viewings, calendar mismatches, or indirect loss. Our total liability for a claim about the service is limited to the amount the agency paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim (which may be zero during a trial). Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud where the law does not allow it.
South African law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. Courts of South Africa have jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. Continued use after the date at the top means you accept the updated terms.
